Our day care centre is located in the beautiful Hansapark in Magdeburg. We regularly use this park for extensive excursions — our children especially love the nearby playgrounds in the Hansapark.

Our facility is designed with welcoming, spacious rooms plus an extensive and attractive outdoor area. We are particularly proud of our cultivation area in the garden, where we grow fruit and vegetables together with our children and their parents. This helps children learn that food grows in fields rather than in the supermarket. Needless to say, they are also allowed to sample the produce we grow!

Our day care centre has a collaboration with the "Konservatorium Georg Philipp Telemann", which is the music school for the state capital Magdeburg. Once a week, there is a session to promote early support for music, movement and language, which is very popular with our little giants.

Our day care centre offers long opening hours and flexible childcare, giving parents a stress-free way to combine work and family life. We offer up to 10 hours of childcare.

Educational concept

The philosophy at our daycare centre is designed around the standardised educational programme for Saxony-Anhalt, known in German as "Bildung: elementar - Bildung von Anfang an” (Education: fundamentals — learning from the start). The focus of our educational activity is always on the children’s specific needs and capabilities. We support their development into independent, self-sufficient individuals. With guided activities and plenty of scope for free play, we encourage the children in all areas of education and life. Our little giants themselves set the pace and tempo.

Although we have fixed groups, we follow an open-door policy. If children want to visit their playmates in another group, they are welcome to do so. This means everyone gets to know each other, and anxiety about social contact is diminished. Since we are a small facility, we have a close relationship with parents and invite them regularly to the parents' café.

We use a thumb signalling system with different colours to help the children form their own opinions. This system makes it easier to communicate feelings and opinions, especially for pre-verbal children or those who do not (yet) know German.
