Our day care centre was opened in September 2019 in a quiet residential area in Cologne Gremberghoven. It extends over three floors, offering highly modern facilities in terms of space and technical requirements.

Our group rooms are very bright and spacious and have integrated kitchens as well as adjoining side rooms and sleeping areas. In the under threes area, there is an elevated level designed to suit the youngest children and accommodate their urge to move around while stimulating their interest in changing perspectives in the room. Our mixed-age groups also have an adjoining nappy-changing area.

Behind the building is our outdoor area with a spacious lawn, trees and a sun awning over the sandpit. This area is not visible from the street, so the children can play here undisturbed. A natural hill design divides the external space into areas for the under and over 3s; age-appropriate playground equipment is available for all children. In our accessible garden bed, we grow seasonal fruits and vegetables together with the children. This enables us to promote an understanding of nature while also reinforcing the children’s awareness of healthy eating.

Educational concept

We value each child as a capable individual with their own strengths, talents and needs. Our goal is to encourage these and to support each child’s development into a self-confident, independent individual. Our philosophy offers a blend of group activities and free play. In this way, children experience the safety and security of their group but can also occupy themselves in our functional rooms and participate in cross-group activities depending on their individual interests and needs.

Our focus is always on the children’s specific needs and concerns. We promote a tolerant and open culture that welcomes every child regardless of their origin, language or religion. As a certified “Sprach-Kita”, we place special emphasis on language education, which is integrated into everyday life, inclusive pedagogy and intercultural work. Cooperation with parents and families is very important to us.

Monthly costs

The childcare costs are based on the schedule of fees issued by the city of Cologne. Food costs are billed via the daycare centre and amount to € 103 per month for the kindergarten, € 93 per month for the nursery.
