KRIPPE & KINDERGARTEN

Kuppenheim

Our daycare centre opened in 2011 and has been located in a modern new building owned by the city of Kuppenheim since 2015. The building features generous proportions and has bright, friendly rooms that offer plenty of space for children to play and learn. Our large windows are a special highlight, giving the children fantastic views over the Black Forest and Murg Valley and enabling them to observe animals, cars and the weather. We have our own exercise room for sessions involving physical activity. Our day care centre is located in the middle of a forest and nature reserve, but still conveniently close to the main road to Rastatt and the motorway.

Our daycare centre has also recently become part of the nationwide initiative ‘Notinsel’ (Safe Haven).
Facilities displaying the Notinsel symbol offer children a safe refuge in public spaces if they feel threatened or in danger.
Under the motto "Where we are, you're safe", we make it clear: children are welcome to come in at any time, where they will find protection, a calm presence, and practical help – until they feel safe enough to move on.
You can find more information about the initiative at notinsel.de.

Educational concept

We follow a situational approach to learning at our daycare centre, which builds on children's experiences to strengthen their social and emotional competence. The focus in our everyday routine is on topics that are important to the children, thus emphasising their needs and interests. We offer a holistic weekly program in each group, including crafts, theatre, kamishibai, sport, baking/cooking, gardening and excursions.

We take part in the sponsored language program Sing-Move-Speak and collaborate with the Kindersportschule, which offers weekly sports classes for our preschool children. We also offer specific preparation to get children ready for school. For example, they receive regular visits from primary school teachers as part of our school collaboration programme.

My son has been attending the daycare center for some time now, starting in the nursery and now moving on to a new group – and I'm very happy. He enjoys going, talks a lot about his day, and feels completely at home. I've had consistently positive experiences both in the nursery and in the current group, and I can't complain. There was a phase when there were frequent staff changes. This was a challenge for my son – he didn't want to go during this time because there were so many new faces, and he had to build up trust again. But this was precisely what was addressed very sensitively. Both the teachers and the management responded with great empathy, communicated openly, and supported us as a family with understanding. For me as a mother, it's definitely reassuring to have a good feeling – my child enjoys going, is well cared for, and feels comfortable.

We would like to express our deepest appreciation for the 'Kleine Riesen' daycare center in Kuppenheim. Our son feels very well cared for in his group and is developing wonderfully. The teachers, especially Lisa and Martin, demonstrate exceptional commitment and treat the children with great care. Conflicts are always resolved transparently and to the satisfaction of all involved. It is unfortunate that public perception is currently overshadowed by some negative comments, which, in my opinion, are more akin to personal feuds than professional criticism. However, from our experience, we can only report positive things and are grateful for the professional and warm care our son receives here.

I, too, would like to agree with my colleague and clearly distance myself from such reviews. I've been working at this facility since last year, doing my training there, and, like Lisa, I feel very comfortable. To date, I've found the management, the staff, and the entire environment to be very warm, empathetic, and humane. This should be present in a social work profession in order to do good work, and of course, be passed on to the children. And since we're all only human, there won't be "THE" perfect facility. There's no need for it! You can talk to everyone and have a listening ear, no matter who you are, for whatever the issue is, that's my feeling. It's clearly against the reputation of the facility when such statements are made publicly here, and this has far-reaching consequences. If personal discrepancies exist between people, they should be resolved among themselves and not be made accessible to everyone through reviews that are damaging to the reputation of the entire facility and its branches. Of course, some would like to convey their displeasure to others and issue a warning to the outside world, but this isn't the right approach. It's also completely unjustified, since children and everyone working in the facility always interact empathetically on the same level, without exception! And yes, a certain amount of reflection on the current situation, problem-solving, and admitting mistakes are inevitable when it comes to caring for one's own children. Addressing things that aren't going well is also important. But it shouldn't happen publicly and personally. That's simply unfair and not solution-oriented. For anyone involved! Not for the child, parents, management, or staff. Conflicts aren't resolved at this level—quite the opposite. And I think I speak for many parents and staff reading this.

I've been working at the daycare center since September 2024. My colleagues, as well as the management, are doing a great job. I feel very comfortable and enjoy working at the facility, as well as at the Babilou Family. I would now like to address the unfortunately anonymous review directly, as it is a personal concern and leaves me speechless! We support parents with advice and assistance, and are always available for suggestions, praise, or even criticism (if you don't speak up, how can the other person change anything?). If you, as a parent, don't feel comfortable, or even think: "I have to drop off my child so I can go to work, but I don't feel comfortable with it," you should look for another facility instead of writing such an incredibly rude review! I speak for myself here, and this is my personal opinion! Every day, I observe how the children come into our group rooms, how happy they are, or even how there are tears when they say goodbye (which is completely normal, by the way). Never has a child refused to go to a group where the teacher was present. I don't think it's the children who refuse to go to the group rooms, but the parents. Expressing oneself freely, sharing one's opinion in front of others, or even seeking confrontation is very difficult for us humans. It's naturally easier to talk to others than to address the person directly. It's naturally easier to get upset day after day about something you don't like. And it's very easy to write an anonymous review on Google. Perhaps you should also consider why there is emergency care. Why the staff is absent so often. And if we didn't have our teacher, we would have to close the daycare center if they didn't go into the groups and step in! They are always there for us employees and also for the children. The children are excited to see her, jump into her arms, and desperately want to go to the office and help her. They ask for her when she's not at the center. These are situations I observe. I detect a lot of anger and incomprehension in the review, and naturally, I ask myself a few questions: Would you go to a center every day where you don't feel comfortable? How does this review change your problems? Do you still bring your children to the center despite this opinion? As Lorna Shore (my favorite band) says: "A world without you isn't meant for me." I would say: "A daycare center without you isn't meant for us."

My little girl loves going to daycare, and has since she was 8 months old. At first, I was really concerned about starting so early, but those concerns were quickly put to rest. She's almost 4 now and still loves going. Unfortunately, the daycare center has had to deal with staffing shortages over the past year due to illness and staff turnover. Despite everything, my child comes home happy and looks forward to going every morning.

Our daughter has been attending the facility for almost four years. We've always been very satisfied with the care provided at both the daycare and the kindergarten. The small group for three-year-olds is particularly excellent and a unique selling point. The price is high-end, but for 50 hours including good food, it's understandable. A "carefree package."
