Cologne Ostheim
Our day care centre was opened in May 2016 and enjoys a very central location in the Ostheim district of Cologne. Our spacious facilities have been equipped to a modern standard and designed around the children’s needs to encourage them to play and learn. We have a total of three group rooms, one of which we use as a movement space. Our extensive outdoor area is divided into a nursery and kindergarten area to ensure every child has the best possible opportunity to be physically active. In future, there will be three nursery groups and four kindergarten groups.
New Nursery Group from November 2025
From 1 November 2025, we will be opening a new nursery group for children aged 8 months to 3 years.
A number of places will still be available from December 2025.

Educational concept
As a socially oriented pedagogical institution, we are aware of our education and development responsibilities which are focused on getting the best out of every child. Our pedagogical focus includes a situation-oriented approach, independent learning and personal development for every child, while also supporting play as a natural learning medium. In addition, we place great emphasis on targeted language development, a variety of opportunities for physical activity, and collaborative educational work.
Our philosophy involves working mostly in a group setting. This gives children a safe and secure environment, in which they can develop freely and become independent, self-sufficient individuals.
Since August 2020, we have been certified as a PlusKita, and since October 2021, we have also been certified as a Sprachkita (specialist language nursery). Accordingly, our multidisciplinary team is complemented by a social worker and a Sprachkita language specialist.

Monthly costs
For the daycare year 2024/2025:
The childcare costs are based on the schedule of fees issued by the city of Cologne. In addition, a monthly flat rate for full board of € 120 for the nursery and € 130 for the kindergarten is payable to the daycare centre provider.
